Starting July 14, 2026, Liat Air will be offering direct flights between Pointe-à-Pitre, Guadeloupe, and Montego Bay, Jamaica. This marks a significant development for travelers, as it eliminates the need for layovers and connections, making the journey between these two vibrant destinations significantly more accessible and efficient. This development is particularly timely, coinciding with Reggae Sumfest, Jamaica's renowned music festival, making it easier for Guadeloupeans and French Caribbean residents to experience the island's vibrant music scene. The route will operate twice weekly, with flights departing Pointe-à-Pitre at 3:35 p.m. on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and returning from Montego Bay at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesdays and Sundays. Fares are competitive, starting at just US$307 one way, a significant improvement over the previously required multi-carrier ticketing. This new route is part of Liat Air's broader strategy to enhance intra-Caribbean connectivity. The airline, which relaunched in 2024 as the successor to the long-standing LIAT, has been actively expanding its route network, adding destinations, and increasing its fleet. This expansion is supported by Nigeria's Air Peace, which holds a majority stake in Liat Air. The Montego Bay service is a significant addition to Liat Air's growing network, which already includes nonstop flights between Antigua and Pointe-à-Pitre and onward connections through its Antigua hub to the United States and the United Kingdom.
